Starting his apprenticeship back in 1973, Top Choice Mechanical Repairs owner Graham plied his trade with drivers throughout inner city Melbourne, as well as training as a race mechanic. He would become a regular on pit crews for Geoff Newton Racing, including touring car events at Bathurst. This would continue into the 80s, where he would be head mechanic for Australian Rally Champion Bob Watson, working out of his Hawthorn workshop.

Graham would then work for and manage several service departments at dealers for Holden, Ford, Mercedes Benz and more, before joining Top Choice Mechanical Repairs in 2009, buying the business a year later.
